Follow these instructions whether you're installing for the first time or upgrading.

In the window that appears, click OPEN (Windows 98 and 2000) or RUN (XP); or, if you want to save a copy of the setup file, click SAVE.

If you click SAVE ...

If you've previously installed Tracker 7, we recommend saving the setup file to your Tracker 7 folder. The default is c:\t7, but yours can be named anything and can be anywhere on your network.

Click START, RUN, BROWSE and navigate to t7_setup.

Click t7_setup, OPEN, OK.

One of the installation windows begins, "Setup will install Waterwheel Tracker in the following destination folder." The default is c:\t7. If you're upgrading an existing copy of Tracker 7 and you're not running Tracker 7 from c:\t7, click CHANGE FOLDER and navigate to your Tracker 7 folder (when upgrading, you normally want to over-write your existing copy of Tracker 7).

If you're upgrading from Tracker 6 to Tracker 7, DO NOT install Tracker 7 in your existing Tracker 6 folder.

The barcode upload utility

The barcode upload utility saves data uploaded from a Worth Data TriCoder in a text file that can be processed later or on a different computer. The Tracker doesn't need to be loaded on the computer you're using. This is handy if you have employees at a remote site where you don't have network connectivity or you don't want your warehouse or field employees to work directly with the Tracker. To install:

Click upload_setup and SAVE (don't OPEN) the download file anywhere on your hard disk.
Click START, RUN, BROWSE and navigate to upload_setup (you may see upload_setup.exe).
Click upload_setup, OPEN, OK. If you're upgrading an existing copy, install the Upload utility in your existing Upload utility folder.
